The University is located in the heart of Welsh speaking Wales, providing learners with ample opportunity to practise the language. Where better to learn Welsh? Come to Lampeter to learn Welsh quickly, in a relaxed atmosphere with the help of experienced Welsh language tutors.
You will get a full understanding of the language; its grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation patterns. There will be an emphasis on developing your communicative effectiveness, so you will increase your confidence, fluency and ability to use the language outside the classroom. Small classes ensure a high level of individual attention with emphasis given to pair and group work. We try to make the learning experience fun and challenging at all times, to motivate you to work hard and get results! You will be in a group of students who share the same goal of wanting to achieve fluency and success in Welsh. Become part of a friendly, demanding, but enjoyable study environment - the perfect way to learn Welsh!
What level will I have reached by the end of the course?
This course is designed for those who need to learn basic Welsh conversation skills over a short period of time. By the end of the weekend, the committed learner should be able to hold a basic conversation with a sympathetic first language speaker. Although this course is primarily for beginners, learners with limited knowledge are also encouraged to attend in order to improve their confidence when using the language.
When applying to attend the course, please specify if you have already studied any Welsh, in order for you to be placed in the correct class on the first day.
