Teaching Fellow

Jemma’s main area of research focuses on the archaeology of historical periods in Britain and northern Europe and her current research project is funded by the Centre for Advanced Welsh and Celtic Studies, Aberystwyth. She specialises in landscape reconstruction through remote sensing, geomatics and GIS. When she isn’t analysing medieval rentals or post-medieval estate maps she can probably be found in a remote Welsh upland conducting survey, geophysics or excavation, although she would describe herself as a practical theorist.

Director of the Sophia Centre for the Study of Cosmology in Culture.

Nick’s research interests include the history of astrology and astronomy as well as the place of both disciplines in contemporary culture, millenarian and apocalyptic belief, magic, New Age and pagan ideas and practices, the sociology of new religious movements and the nature of belief in general.
