Postgraduate StudiesResearch CultureResearch SeminarsThe Department organises a series of research seminars during each of the three teaching terms. These are held in Burgess Lecture room, usually on a Thursday evening, and start at 6pm. Papers last for (about) 45 minutes to an hour and are followed by discussion. Residential postgraduates are expected to attend these seminars since they form an essential part of the research culture of the Department. The programme for this term's Research Seminars can be found here. In addition to the series organised by the Department of Classics, there will also be research seminars in other departments on campus and in departments in other Universities (most obviously Swansea) which you may want to go to, and you should look out for publicity for these.
ConferencesThe Department is organising various conferences, panels in conferences and workshops throughout the year. More information on the recent and future conferences, panels and workshops, can be found in the Research Institute of Classics website.
