Postgraduate StudiesSummer Workshop in Greek and LatinSince 1994, a highly successful Greek and Latin Summer Workshop has been held at Lampeter; high quality intensive tuition is provided in both languages at beginners, intermediate, intermediate/advanced, and advanced levels (one and two-week courses). Courses in prose composition, Medieval Latin and Renaissance Latin are also offered. All teaching takes place in small, friendly groups by experienced staff. In addition to the scheduled tuition, a varied programme of social events is arranged that includes talks on classical topics, country walks and excursions. Each year the Department welcomes participants from a range of ages and backgrounds from all over the world. Taking a module at the Summer Workshop gives students the opportunity to try out their linguistic skills, to meet their tutors, and discuss their individual requirements. It also gives distance students in particular the opportunity to meet up with other students taking the same programme and the Department organises a party for its students during the Workshop. Any module taken at the Summer Workshop can count towards any of our taught degree schemes (subject to approval by your course supervisor), as all the modules offered during the Workshop are fully accredited by the University.
