Clearing and Adjustment are UCAS processes for matching students to course vacancies. During the Clearing & Adjustment period Lampeter has experienced and helpful staff ready to take your call and talk through your various options.

Since Lampeter is not affected by the cap on student numbers introduced in England, we have vacancies on a range of courses.

Who is Clearing for?

Clearing is for you if:

you missed out on your original choices
you were unsuccessful in meeting the conditions of your offer(s)
you declined the offers you received from your original choice
your UCAS application was too late to be considered for UCAS Extra
you have just decided to apply to university

Who is Adjustment for?

Adjustment is for you if:

you want to "trade up" from your firm choice university to Lampeter
you meet and exceed the conditions of your CF (conditional firm) choice
you have paid the full UCAS application fee

The Adjustment process is available from 19 August until 31 August 2010. Your 5 day individual Adjustment period starts on 19 August or when your conditional firm (CF) choice changes to unconditional firm (UF), whichever is later. From this time you have a maximum of five calendar days (including weekends and the Bank Holiday) to apply to Lampeter which you can do by referring yourself to us through UCAS Track.

How do I find out about courses vacancies?

If your results are not as you had expected - the Clearing system has been created for you.

If you want to look round the university, information regarding our Late Summer Open Day can be found on our main website. If you would like to visit before this day, then please contact us as we welcome visitors on an individual basis.

What options are available to me?

Do not panic if you results were not as you expected as there may be other options suitable for you. Please phone us and we will be happy to talk you through the available options.

When should you contact us?

Most Clearing applicants receive their forms after the publication of A level results on Thursday 19 August 2010, but please feel free to contact us at any time. You can contact us before 19 August if you already have your results and are in the Clearing system. If you are waiting for the publication of your results on 19 August, you will be able to refer yourself to us via the UCAS Track system from the afternoon of that day.

How do I apply to Lampeter through Clearing?

Once you are in the UCAS Clearing system, you can refer yourself to us through the track system. Our UCAS code is L07 and the relevant course code can be located on our Course Vacancies pages.

Not yet in Clearing?

If you have not previously applied through the UCAS system this year and wish to apply to Lampeter, then you can apply direct using an RPA (Record of Prior Acceptance) form. Please contact us if you would like us to send you a RPA form, by post or by email

Visiting Lampeter

We are holding a Late Summer Open Day on Saturday 4 September 2010. If you cannot attend this Open Day, you can visit us at any other time from now until the end of September. We may be able to offer you overnight accommodation during your visit, and can arrange meetings with academic departments if you wish.
