Theory & Practice @ Lampeter

Photo of student on camera and inside the libraryAt Lampeter theory and practice always inform each other in an invigorating and productive relationship.  If you are primarily involved in production modules you will also learn about the role of media in society, and how the media industries operate; by doing so you will be expertly placed to embark on your careers, as well as to be an effective, reflexive and ethical media practitioner.

On the other hand, if you are excited by in-depth academic study of film & media you will find that operating a camera in a multi-camera studio will enhance your skills of analysis.  There is nothing like having to frame shots or edit in the classical realist mode to allow you to grasp the complexities of media languages!
