3 UWL-Owned Software
The definition of UWL-Owned Software covers all programs licensed in the name of UWL. This includes but is not limited to:
- Operating Systems
- Productivity Software, e.g. MicroSoft Office
- E-mail software
- Installed Freeware and Plug-ins.
These items are supplied by UWL for academic and academic-related purposes. They may be freely used for these purposes, for limited personal use and for any other use expressly approved by the Manager of Computing Services in writing (but see ‘JANET AUP’ and also ‘Internal and External E-mail’ on. They may not be used for any other purpose.
Staff are reminded that their terms and conditions of employment also have a bearing on what is and what is not permitted use of UWL facilities.
Only Technicians or other Users who have obtained the express written consent of the Manager of Computing Services may install, configure or uninstall any software on UWL-owned hardware.
