Lampeter MBA Launched in London

On Friday 16 February 2007, the Lampeter MBA was launched at the College of Technology London. Lampeter Staff Professor Robert Pearce (Vice Chancellor), Conny Matera-Rogers (Head of the Department of Management & IT) and Steve Emmens (Lecturer in Management) travelled to London for the launch, a special occasion as it is the first time that Lampeter has offered a Masters in Business Administration qualification.
At the launch, Professor Robert Pearce (Vice Chancellor) said:
“This is a true partnership in which the University and the College of Technology London will be delivering the same programme, using the same materials, and leading to the same qualification. Students from Lampeter and students from CTL will take part together in leadership activities. CTL shares Lampeter’s commitment to quality and to support for the individual. Graduates will be well equipped for careers in today’s rapidly changing business environment.”
Earlier in the week 45 students enrolled onto the MBA, which is the premier business qualification and is designed for aspiring senior managers, future CEOs and entrepreneurs. The postgraduate programme is designed to develop managerial competence in a wide variety of business situations and is often considered to be an essential business qualification.
The Lampeter MBA will be offered through two routes. Following this launch, the programme will be taught in London at the College of Technology London and, from October 2007, it will also be offered on the Lampeter campus.
At both sites, the degree is structured to include essential core modules and offers five possible degree pathways in Leadership, Human Resources Management (HRM), International Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Information Management. Course delivery methods encompass simulation, case studies, group work and out-of-class leadership development and scenario management.
